Items mapping

Product categories allow you to better organize your products in the Catalog. When sending items from Business Central to BaseLinker, it is a good idea to complete it with the category code of the target product in BaseLinker beforehand. This is an optional but recommended action.

Downloading BaseLinker product categories

The BaseLinker product category list is stored in the Business Central database and should be downloaded first. If a new category is added, this step must be repeated.

To download BaseLinker product categories:

  1. Select the search icon Search in the upper right corner of Business Central, then type BaseLinker Setup and click the link.
  2. Click on the button on the action bar Configuration mapping.
  3. Find the configuration related to item mapping in the list and click on its code.
  4. Click on the button on the action bar Show BaseLinker categories.
  5. Download the available categories from BaseLinker by clicking on the Get Categories action.

Mapping items with BaseLinker categories.

To map items with BaseLinker categories:

  1. Select the search icon Search in the upper right corner of the Business Central system, then type BaseLinker Setup and click the link.
  2. Click on the button on the action bar Configuration mapping.
  3. Find the configuration related to items mapping in the list and click on its code.
  4. Assign the appropriate category to the selected item by entering its category code in the BaseLinker Category ID field.
Note

You don't need to assign a product category to every item. Assign a category only to those items you want to synchroznize with BaseLinker.
